Jennifer (Angelo) Meck went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Conemaugh Health System, Johnstown, PA after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
She was born on October 18, 1982 at Everett, PA, the daughter of Tim and Geri (Russell) Angelo. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Randy Meck, on the white sands of Navarre Beach, Florida on August 6, 2009. She and Randy welcomed their son, Jalen Carter Meck into the world on June 10, 2012 - he remains the light and love of their lives. She has one sibling, her older brother, Jeremy L. Angelo, Broad Top, whom she adored, along with her precious little nephew, Jax Angelo and her dear friend, Kayla Kline. Along with her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, brother and parents-in-law, Matthew and Elaine Meck of James Creek, PA; her grandmother, Nada Russell of Everett, PA and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. She was the granddaughter of the late Frank and Dolores Angelo, Broad Top and the late Henry Russell, Jr., Everett. Jennifer is a member of the Everett Grace Brethren Church.
A 2001 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, she excelled academically and athletically. From a career perspective, she followed in her mother's footsteps as a Radiologic Technologist, attending Juniata College; graduated as Valedictorian from Allegany College of Maryland in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology, and later from Pitt College, NC with a degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Jennifer possessed a competitive spirit, something shared in common with her husband, Randy. This spirit complemented their relationship, adding a richness to their day-to-day lives. An exceptional work ethic characterized her approach to academics, career, athletics and life, in general - she accomplished the near unprecedented feat of having perfect attendance from kindergarten through college, extending on through her employment, interrupted only by the onset of the illness that ultimately took her life.
She was employed in the Medical Imaging Department at JC Blair Health System , Huntingdon, PA as a certified (NMTCB) Nuclear Medicine technologist/CT/Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist. Jen loved her profession, something that was evident every day in the manner in which she cared for patients and interacted with colleagues.
Jennifer was attracted to the seashore, in fact, she and Randy chose to be married on the white sands of Navarre Beach, Florida. Growing up she loved swimming and family vacations to the seashore; a tradition that her family continues with Randy and Jalen . Consistent with this love for sun, sand and surf and keeping with her wishes, the immediate family will honor her memory at a section of beach she most loved at a future date.
Jennifer's characteristic beaming smile, outgoing personality, quick wit and unique sense of humor left an enduring positive impression on every life she touched. In contrast to her outgoing personality, she was a very private person in many ways. Without question, Jen lived her life in a manner worthy of recognition and celebration, but those who knew her well will not be surprised that, consistent with her selfless approach to life and avoidance of self-promotion, she did not want any formal services - we will honor her wishes.
Jen loved animals, especially her beloved cat, Diva, and always had a passion to help the unfortunate, homeless, potential pets at the local animal shelters. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter or Humane Society in her memory.
Arrangements are under the arrangements of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. 5010 Railroad Ave. Broad Top City, PA. 16621. Online condolences can be made at www.caheathfh.com.

Randy, Jalen and families,

Sadden to hear of your loss. May God help you during this difficult time. We know that you will keep Jennifer's memory alive by reliving all of the glorious times that you had. Her love for her job was greatly demonstrated through her compassionate heart. We personally experienced this compassion when she was involved in caring for our mom. No matter what Jennifer attempted to do, she always gave her best. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jen was a very special person. She always cared for patients without judging or complaint, just as she approached everything in life. Excellence was the standard for Jen, but always gracious and selfless.
Heaven has gained an angel with a warm smile and a huge heart.
I am blessed to have been able to work with Jen.

Randy, Jalen, Geri, Elaine and rest of family, Jen was one of the most sweetest, caring that I knew. I hadn't got to see her for a while and that breaks my heart. I always enjoyed the time we spent together and she could always put a smile on my face when I was feeling down. She was a radiant beauty, inside and out! Her last wishes are exactly what I would have expected of her as we share the same ones. My heart goes out to you all and Pray for your Comfort and Peace!

Randy -

While I didn't know you that well you seemed like a very nice guy. I had heard through some mutual friends that your wife was dealing with cancer but didn't know much more than that. When I got home this week from a business trip and read the obituary in the paper it really saddened me. May God comfort you and Jalen through this time.

God Bless you and your son.

Dear Tim and Geri,
May Jennifer rest in peace! She truly was an angel on Earth. She left a little bit of herself here -- Jalen. What a sweet memory. Hope you find joy and happiness once again as you watch him grow. We love you and your loved ones.
Love,
Phyl & Allan

Where do I begin to express my sorrow over the loss of our dear Jennifer. They say angels walk among us and Jennifer was truly an angel. She was beautiful on the outside but her true beauty was in her heart. She was loving and compassionate and touched the lives of everyone she met. My heart aches for you Randy, and for Jalen. Jennifer is in no more pain, at least we can be thankful for that. My heart also breaks for Tim, Geri and Jeremy. You have all been so close and shared so many good memories. Those memories will help you through these difficult times. I won't say it will get easier but you with each passing day will find it easier to deal with. When we look at the sky we will see another bright star. And when we see the ocean waves and feel the ocean breeze we will remember her. The beach was her "happy place." Jennifer left the best part of her for us to remember her and find joy in life through your precious little guy--Jalen. He is a true gift from her to us all. Jalen will have such fond memories of his mom through the stories we tell. That is how we will never forget. Losing her left a hole in all our hearts. We must go on because that is what Jennifer would have insisted we do. My love reaches out to all our families who share the pain of losing this very, very special girl. I'm sure there's a beach in heaven and Jennifer's there right now.
