 Andrew J. "Jim" Palko, 61, of Wood, went to be with the Lord at UPMC Altoona Hospital on Saturday February 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cleveland, OH on August 28, 1955, a son of the late Audrey (Hastings) and Joseph  Palko.
He was a member of Robertsdale Church of God and was a life member of the R.W. & BT. Vol. Fire Co. where he loved helping and volunteering as well as driving ambulance. He also loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making crafts, going to church, picking berries and mushrooms, and spending time with family. He worked most recently at the Wood, Broad Top-Wells Joint Municipal Authority, but was also a life long coal miner last working for Rox Coal Co.
He was a life member of the R.W. & BT. Vol. Fire Co. where he loved helping and volunteering as well as driving ambulance. He also loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making crafts, going to church, picking berries and mushrooms, and spending time with family.
Along with his wife, Melvena (Marks) Palko, he is survived by a step daughter, Lisa Shoop, of Wood;
five step sons Dennis Lane, of Huntingdon; Norm Lane, of Robertsdale; Tim Lane, of Dudley; Galen Lane, of Wood, PA; Jay Lane, of East Millsboro. a brother, Ronald, husband of  Mary Palko, of Cassville; as well as numerous Step Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be recieved on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 10-11 AM at the Robertsdale Church of God where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Don Evans officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robertsdale Church of God P. O. Box 38 Robertsdale, PA 16621 or R.W.& BT. Vol Fire Co. P.O. Box 8, Robertsdale, PA. 16674.

Melvena and family, We wish to express our sincere sympathy with Jim's passing. He was an excellent staple in the church and was loved by all. He will be deeply missed. May all of you have peace and comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven with the Lord for eternity.

I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and Prayers are with all the family. Jim was well liked by all. He was there for anyone that needed help and he will be missed by all that knew him.. God Bless You All.

My condolences to the entire family. We went to school together and I always remember how nice Jim was to everyone. His love for God and Melvena showed greatly. I will miss my hug every Sunday in church and I will miss Jim. My prayers are with you all today.
