Viola May (Foor) Chamberlain, 84, of Six Mile Run, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at her home.
Born on July 23, 1933 in Wood, PA, she was a daughter of the late Dewey E and Lennie V. (Bequeath) Foor.
On May 12, 1951 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Garfield “Gary” Chamberlain in Cumberland, MD which produced a 55 1/2 year marriage. Mr. Chamberlain preceded her in death on December 2, 2006.
During her life she worked for Howard-Johnson for 14 years and Cove Shoe Co. for 23 years, as well as being a care giver to her father and loving husband. She enjoyed baking pies for her family, bowling, sewing, animals, crocheting, and playing the piano at church and was a Sunday School teacher, she was a loving grandmother who helped raise her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, daughter, Juanita Everhart and son, Garfield E. Chamberlain, both of Six Mile Run. Also surviving are sisters, Suzanne Morse of Breezewood, Myrtle Miller of Everett, Nancy Julian of Robertsdale RD, and a brother Chester Foor Sr., of Six Mile Run as well as 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Edith Crooks, and brothers, Russ, Harry, Paul, Johnny, Jack and Emmit Foor.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 AM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Tim McIntyre officiating. Friends will be received from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at Rays Cove Cemetery, Breezewood, PA. at 1 PM. The family would like to thank all the staff at Graine Hospice for the loving care they gave to their precious mother and grandmother at home.
