Shirley M. (Edwards) Diehl, 79, of Huntingdon, formerly of Dover, PA, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital.
Born in Saxton on August 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George Dewey and Elva (Hammond) Edwards.
She was the widow of Charles W. Diehl who preceded her in death on January 3, 2008.
During her life she was primarily a self employed beautician along with various other jobs. She was a charter member of the Rebekah’s Lodge in Broad Top City and enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, bingo, the beach and NASCAR Races and was a 1956 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and later the Altoona Beauty School. She was of the protestant faith belonging to the West Poplar Street Church of God in York, PA.
Surviving are three daughters, Teresa “Terry” Devor, Denise Hubbard, Brenda Wolf and a son Bobby Allison Diehl, along with 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, numerous great and step great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenny Hall, George Edwards, and Jack Edwards, she was the last surviving member of her family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 from 11AM-1PM with a service at 1 PM with Pastor Kathy Speck officiating.
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

hey Brenda,terry,denise,bob and family this is Darren. just wanted to send condolences to you all for loss of mom. sounds like she been suffering for awhile now and now you can have comfort that she is not in pain anymore. I'm sorry that I wont be able to come up for funeral but I will be thinking of you all and praying for you to help you thru this difficult times. I know what your going thru right now and it sucks,but better days are ahead. take care and love you all,darren
