Julia Cozzoli Obituary

Julia Kathryn (Dickson) Cozzoli, 95, of Camp Hill, died Tuesday, 10 days shy of her 96th birthday.

She was born April 19, 1928, in Broad Top City, a daughter of Carl Orville Dickson and Ida (Dell) Dickson.

Julia was a 1946 graduate of Robertsdale High School where she was president of the junior class, associate editor of the senior yearbook, a member of the Home Ec. Club, and a member of the women’s basketball team.

She retired in 1990 as an executive secretary from The Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission.

She married her husband, Frank Joseph Cozzoli, on April 1950 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Harrisburg.

An avid Penn State football fan, she and her family were season ticket holders from 1975 to 2009.

She worked in Harrisburg for General Motors until her husband’s advertising career moved from Pomeroy's in Harrisburg to Wren's Department Store in Springfield, Ohio. They then moved to The Fashion in Columbus, Ohio, and then to Dey Brothers in Syracuse, N.Y.

From Syracuse they moved to the William H. Block department store in Indianapolis and finally to New Haven, Conn., and Edw. Malley Co.

Julie then returned to Harrisburg where she worked at Sear's at the Capital City Mall before moving to the Ethics Commission, a job her brother, Kenny, said "figured." After retiring she worked part-time for Diocesan Publications in New Cumberland.

She was a true lady.

Surviving are a son, Frank Judson Cozzoli, husband of Karen, of Camp Hill; a daughter, Janie Cozzoli, also of Camp Hill; a sister, Wanda Donahue of Saxton; nieces Ann Snyder of Saxton, wife of James, and Doris Shore of Annapolis, Md., wife of Arnie; a nephew, Jack Kenneth Dickson, husband of Susan, of Saxton; a great-nephew, Patrick Snyder of Martinsburg, husband of Betsy; and great-nieces Erin Snyder of Saxton, Alison Kennedy of Blue Bell, wife of Kyle, and Andrea Runk of Duncansville, wife of Jeffrey.
