On August 12, 2017 in Broad Top, he married his high school sweetheart, Caitlin (Villa) Runk, who survives at home with their 2 boys.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two sons: Camden Ray and Jackson Michael, who he loved with all of his heart. He is also survived by three siblings: Stephanie Hess of Saxton, Ryan Hess of Philadelphia, and Shane Runk of Cassville; maternal grandparents Robert and Mary Ellen Bucknell of Sebring, FL, paternal grandmother Shirley Runk of Cassville; nieces and nephews Lillie and Kasen Miller and Peyton and Hudson Gartland; in-laws who loved him as their own; his favorite four-legged girl, Luna; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
