Patricia E. “Patty” (Everhart) Houck, 81, of Wood met her Lord face to face on March 2, 2020, passing from this earth at UPMC Altoona Hospital after a brave fight with an extended illness.
Born on August 8, 1938 in Wood, she was a daughter of the late Robert K. and Virginia R. (Fields) Everhart.
On December 15, 1956 in Essex, MD. She was united in marriage to Ronald W. Houck which produced a marriage of almost 58 years. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2014.
Surviving family members include two children, a daughter, Janice (Houck) Davidson of Wood, PA, and a son, Ronald R. Houck husband of Vanessa of Hopewell, PA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Joshua W. Davidson of Hanover, PA. and Jori G. Houck of Hopewell, PA., a brother, Gary J. Everhart, husband of Ruth of Scottsdale, PA., a sister, Linda D. Nichols, wife of William of Claysville, PA. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and brother and sister in laws. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Everhart.
She loved her Lord, her family, her church, and the community. She especially cherished her grandson and granddaughter of whom she could not be more proud of. Active in many areas of her church and community over the years she served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, treasurer of the Women of the Church of God for 30 years, secretary/treasurer of the Robertsdale High School Alumni Association for over 30 years and was instrumental in helping keep the annual gathering a success. In the community, she volunteered at her local polling place and was the director of the Broad Top Area Food Bank for 16 years.
During her life she was a homemaker and was well known for her delicious pies. She was happiest and most blessed when she was serving others.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Robertsdale Church of God from 6-8 PM and again on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9:30-11 AM.
Funeral Services will take place Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Jared Fields officiating at the Robertsdale Church of God.
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA.
