Custer Leroy Ford, 85, of Saxton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 7:42 AM at Homewood at Martinsburg
He was born in Wood, PA on February 17, 1928, a son of the late Olive Mae (Swope) and Custer  Ford.
He was united in marriage to Helen Louise (Neville) Ford on April 17, 1946 in Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2005.
He was a member of Coalmont United Methodist Church Saxton, PA 16678.
He worked as a Coal Miner at Mark Mining until his retirement.
He was a member of the Hopewell Senior Citizens Center, former member of the Coalmont Boro. Council, Election Board, and was a former director of the Broad Top Burial Assn.
He is  survived by two daughters, Susan, wife of  George Clark, of Saxton, PA;  Darla, wife of  Harry Guyer, of Loysburg, PA; and two sons Rev. Leroy A. "Bill", husband of  Kathy (Weaverling) Ford, of Independence, OH; and John L., husband of  Dolly (Weitzel) Ford, of Saxton, PA;
He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Moffat and five brothers, Pete, Glen, Jack, Gary, and Paul Ford
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Olive Mae, and sisters, LaRue, and Dorthea, brother, Danny, and an infant brother.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-8 PM and are also invited to call Saturday from 10-11 AM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.
Funeral Services will be held at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top City, PA, at 11 AM on Saturday, September 21st,  with Pastor Barbara Berg officiating.
Interment will be made at I.O.O.F. Cemetery Broad Top City, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coalmont United Methodist Church RD Saxton, PA 16678.
