Richard Grant Taylor, 86, of Six Mile Run, passed away December 21, 2019, surrounded by his family.  Born March 19, 1933, he was the son of Grant and Sadie Taylor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Taylor, and his sister Shirley Taylor.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Beatrice (Wright); a daughter, Suzy (Taylor) Kirkham and her husband, Korry; a son, Richard Lee Taylor and his wife, Beth;  two grandsons, Kolby Duane Kirkham and Kaden Grant Kirkham, whom he cherished and loved; two brothers, Raymond  (Donna) Taylor and  Charles (Hazel) Taylor; a sister, Sally (George) Siclari; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was a 1951 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after 38 years of service.
Richard was a senior elder of the Kearney Union Church for20 years. He was faithful to the ministry of the church, sharing the many ways God touched and guided his life. He also dedicated much of his time to leading bible studies and maintaining the church property.
Richard lived a life dedicated to providing, protecting and loving his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Beatrice.
Richard loved sports of all kinds, first being his love for the Philadelphia Phillies, never missing a game. He was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and relished in their Super Bowl win of 2018. He was an avid fan of Tussey Mountain High School sports for more than 60 years.
Richard lived his life as a true example of a faithful Christian servant, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Richard’s family would like to thank the staff of the Allegheny Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg and Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Altoona for the care and compassion they showed him, especially in these last few months.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing but friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.  on Thursday, December 26 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Jerry Wright officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.  Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, PA. Private interment will be in Duvall Cemetery in Six Mile Run. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made payable to “Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries”, c/o Richard Taylor, 998 Logan Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
