Marie S. (Hall) Mellott, 93, of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Dudley and Saxton, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at The Village.

Born on May 15, 1927 in Yellow Creek, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Glennie (Clapper) Hall.

On August 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Eugene Mellott Jr. who preceded her in death on November 24, 2006.

She was a 1945 graduate of the Robert P. Smith High School and was an active member of the Dudley Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, helping at the church, serving as judge of elections in Dudley Boro and spending time with her family.

Surviving are the following family members, sons Ted, husband of Kathy Mellott of Six Mile Run, Richard, husband of Eva Mellott of Saxton, and Robert, husband of Theresa Mellott of State College, daughters, Patricia, wife of Robert Wilkins of Saxton, Jeri, wife of Steven Ritchey of Roaring Spring, Brenda, wife of Edward Lucas of Sarver, and a daughter in law, Darlene Mellott of Duncansville. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Stephen, a daughter, Debra Allison, a son in law, William Allison, brothers Henry, Emanuel, Richard “Dick” and Leroy Hall, sisters, Vera Koontz, and Ethel Ford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11 AM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home with Pastor John Shubert officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior the service.

Interment will take place at the Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery, Hopewell, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Matt Baker Local Cancer Fund, % FNB 911 Church St., Saxton, PA.

My family is sorry to hear about Marie passing away. I know our families have known each other since our parents grew up together going to Smith School, basically a lifetime. I have a lot of fond memories of Marie. Your family is in our prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss. She was a strong woman and devoted mother. She raised a wonderful family and was so proud of her children. Our hearts go out to all of you.
