Adam Black Obituary

Adam Jackson Black, 74, of Bedford, formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 4, 2020, following a lengthy battle with rheumatoid arthritis.
Born in Huntingdon on July 17, 1945, he was a son of the late Jack Black and Elsie (Scillini) Black Mancini and Stepfather Gemi “Gene” Mancini.
On November 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Melanie (Hudacik) Black who was his primary caregiver and survives at their home.
During his life, he worked as a superintendent for Whiting and Turner and was a Corvette enthusiast belonging to the Corvette club as well as the Moose, Elks, and the Cement Masons, and was of the Catholic faith.
He was a veteran of the United States Army earning the rank of E-5 serving from April 22, 1966 until his honorable discharge on March 3, 1968.
Along with his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tracy L. Black of Ohio, a son, Adam J. Black of Maryland, sister, Gina (Mancini) Bowers, wife of Mark, brother, Mario Mancini, husband of Dawn, all of Maryland, sister by law, Kathy (Hudacik) Lichvar, wife of Mark, of Bedford. Also surviving are grandchildren: Valerie J., Jeffrey, Justin, and Jackson Valek, all of Ohio. As well as numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Beau Michael Black and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
