Barry Willis Swope

Barry Willis Swope, 73, of Carlisle, PA. passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at his home.

Born in Wood, Pa. on December 2, 1949, a son of the late Willis and Virginia (Everetts) Swope.

On May 18, 1973, he was united in marriage to Sandra (Dick) Swope whom survives at their home.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lydia Smiley, wife of Rob, grandchildren, Parker, Easton, and Ella, as well as sisters, Nancy Watkin, Carolyn "Mae" Swope, and Penny Plank.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam Era from June 19, 1967 to June 18,1971.

He worked as a Construction Foreman II for Penn Dot, was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed golf, hunting, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA. with full military honors provided by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. P. O. Box 214, Broad Top City, Pa. 16621 to assist with final expenses.
