Calvin Harrison Covert, 65, of Saxton, formerly of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital due to complications with Covid-19.
Born in Roaring Spring, PA. on February 27, 1956, a son of the late Merle “Pete” and Mary “Hilda” (Bair) Covert.
He was united in marriage to Delaine Kay (Steele) Covert on May 10, 1980 at the Yellow Creek Church.
He attended Tussey Mt. High School, was of the protestant faith, and worked in the Logging Industry and later as a Diesel Mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to Happy hollow Restaurant to eat.
Surviving are daughters, Amanda Assaley and companion, Jeremie Coughenour, Ashley Lantz, wife of Justin, grandchildren, Vanessa, Sophia, Arianna, Brantley, Lincoln, and Minlee, brother, Allan Covert, husband of Trish, sisters Glenda McEwan, wife of Dave, Beverly Kuykendall, and Bonnie Foust, a nephew, Jason Strait who was reared in the home, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Covert, brother-in-law, Bob Foust, two infant nieces, Jessica Covert and Cayla Steele.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Forrester officiating.
Interment will take place in the Langdondale Cemetery, Hopewell, PA.
