Carl E. Hinkel Sr. 84, of Saxton passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at his home. Born September 7, 1941 in Puttstown, the son of the late Ralph E. and Mae A [Smith] Hinkel.
On October 21, 1967, in Winchester, VA he was united in marriage to Sara K. (Crotsley)Hinkel, who survives at their home.
Along with his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Carl Jr, husband of Karen of Robertsdale, Shawn, husband of Tonia of Broad Top, Trevor, husband of Bobby Jo of Saxton, grandchildren Tanesha Hinkel, Makayla, wife of Derek Pawuk, Kyran Hinkel, Nevin Hinkel, Maggie Hinkel, and 2 special great grandchildren, Dacelin and Wynslee.
He was a 1959 graduate of Saxton-Liberty high school. He dedicated his life to hard work, craftsmanship, and family. A proud member of Carpenters Local 423, he took great pride in his trade and the projects he helped bring to life throughout his career such as Three Mile Island & The Raystown dam.
Carl is remembered for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or share a story. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, long walks in the woods, woodworking & spending time with his family.
Family and Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm on Friday October 31st, 2025 to the hour of service at 12PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.
