Cindy J. McMurtrie, 66, of Waterfall, passed away at her home on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Born in Roaring Spring, on July 23, 1958, a daughter of the late, Fred D. and Ruth M. (Kelly) Notestine.
She was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and then was united in marriage to Samuel M. McMurtrie on June 21, 1975 in Duncansville. They were married for 38 years until Sams death on 2013.
Surviving are two sons, Michael A. McMurtrie of Waterfall, and Theodore D. McMurtrie, husband of Rebecca (Buseck) of Dudley. Also surviving is a nephew, Kenneth Summer of Dublin Mills who was reared in the home, grandchildren, Ciara McMurtrie, Abbygale Grasser, Taner McMurtrie, Callie McMurtrie, McKaila McMurtrie, 2 great-grandchildren, and brothers, Bradley E. Notestine of New Enterprise, David P. Notestine of Hopewell, and Brian C. Notestine.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Vickie, wife of Steve Summers, Fred D. Notestine Jr, Steven, husband of Darlene (Hinkle) Notestine, Doris, wife of Dennis Lazor, and Holly Notestine.
During her life she held employment as a seamstress at Overly Rakers for 10 years, Todays Ladies for 9 years, Delco for 2 years, then made boots at Cove Shoe for a year and retired from Cannondale making bicycles.
She loved fishing with Chip, big family dinners, and spending time with her family. She had one true best friend, Judy McGhee of Robertsdale, and was also very fond of her niece, Nichele (Wyles) Notestine who was like the daughter she never had.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
