Cindy Straley Obituary

Cindy Lou Straley, 59, of James Creek, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home following a short battle with ovarian cancer being diagnosed in September of this year.
She was born in Waynesboro, PA on July 19, 1959 and is survived by her life partner and love of her life of 22 years, Brian Rosenberry of James Creek who was by her side at the time of her passing. She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis Hornbaker of McConnellsburg, a daughter, Sarah Short also of McConnellsburg, and three grandsons, Daniel, Jacob, and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Straley and a brother Roger Hornbaker.
She enjoyed fishing, bingo, watching NASCAR, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She also enjoyed yard sales and collecting angel figurines.
A 1977 graduate of James Buchannan High School in Mercersburg and then graduated from the Franklin County Area Vo-Tech in the LPN program in Cindy Lou Straley, 59, of James Creek, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home following a short battle with ovarian cancer being diagnosed in September of this year.

A 1977 graduate of James Buchannan High School in Mercersburg and then graduated from the Franklin County Area Vo-Tech in the LPN program in 1986.
She worked in the geriatrics department at Fulton County Medical Center and for Manor Care and also worked for Home Nursing part time for 10 years before becoming disabled.
To all the people that she met and knew, she would like to request that they would give all their love and support to Brian because he was her rock and strongest supporter. Now he will need someone to support him in this time of sadness.
At the deceased request there will be no public services held.
