Clara Ruby (Defibaugh) Hastings

Clara Ruby Hastings, 82, of the Village at Morrisons Cove Home, Martinsburg, formerly of Six Mile Run, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Village.
Born on August 19, 1936, in Six Mile Run, a daughter of the late Howard Allison and Elsie Gertrude (Noel) Defibaugh.
On June 11, 1955 she was united in marriage to Earl Emanuel Hastings. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1994.
She worked as a school bus driver, census taker, shoe factory in Wood, and was a democratic committee woman for Bedford County in Broad Top Twp. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, going out to eat and was an avid bingo player.
She was a 1954 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School, was of the protestant faith and played the piano at the former North Point Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl, wife of Brian of New Enterprise, a son Earl Hastings of Six Mile Run, a step grandson, Jason Wade Figard, and a step great granddaughter, Courtney Esther Figard. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by sisters, Verna Goodyear, Dorothy Long, Ruth Smith, Marian Everetts, and a brother, Robert Defibaugh.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 12 Noon at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top, PA. with Pastor Dean Thomas officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Evans Cemetery, Six Mile Run, PA.
