David Cessna Obituary

David A. Cessna of Cooks went to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was born on May 8, 1947 the son of the late George and Helen Pennell Cessna.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Gayle Stevenson, a brother, Samuel Cessna, and wife, Patricia MacDonald. of Punta Gorda, Florida, a son, Christopher Cessna, and wife, Amy, and stepgrandaughter, Amanda, of Willow Street, Pennsylvania, and a son, Michael, and wife, Diana, and grandson, Mason, of Valrico, Florida.
Having grown up in Saxton, Dave excelled at many sports, especially football. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Tussey Mountain High School in the class of 1965 and later attended Penn State University. He then joined the United States Navy in 1967 where he attained the grade of E-5 before his honorable discharge in 1971.
Becoming involved in the landscape business during his teen years, Dave became very skillful in design and planting and continued in the profession his entire life.
He was a member of the Wood United Methodist Church and participated in a number of plays with the Drama Team.
In the last 15 years, he had two dogs, Tucker and Maggie, whom he dearly loved.
He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, family and friends.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. 5010 Railroad Ave. Broad Top City, PA. 16621. Internment will be made in the Cooks Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Wood United Methodist Church or the Huntingdon County Humane Society.
