Dean Camerer

Dean A. Camerer, 44,  of James Creek, PA, passed away peacefully at home Feb. 22, 2026 surrounded. by family due to an extended illness. 

Dean was born May 19, 1981 in Altoona, PA, the son of Sharon and James Hess, and Dwayne and Michelle Camerer. He is survived by a grandmother, Barbara Hamer Knisely. Sisters, Deanna Hall (Richard) and Emily Wyant (Levi), nephews, Gavin, Krew, Kole, Owen and Sonny, as well as a niece Logan. Two Stepbrothers, Jimmy Hess (Samantha) and Brad Hess. Many aunts and uncles, one who was very special to him, Lisa Moore (Wayne) and cousins that are more like sisters Landi Vollkommer (Craig) and Brandi Smith. Dean was preceded in death by grandparents Samuel Hamer, also Larry and Mary Camerer.

Dean loved the outdoors, he especially loved hiking and always looking for waterfalls, listening to music, technology, baseball, and spending time with family.  He was recently employed by Sportsman’s Warehouse as a Printer Operator in Johnstown, PA. 

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
