Delphine Jane Snyder, 77, of Saxton, formerly of Broad Top City, affectionately known as "Beanie", passed away at her home unexpectedly on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Born on June 6, 1947 in Broad Top, a daughter of the late Duncan Allison and Gladys Anne (Diehl) Black.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Leroy" Snyder. They were united in marriage on July 16, 1965.
Surviving are daughters, Tracy Lyn, wife of William "Bill" Klicoyne, of Hughesville, Annette "Michele", wife of Corey McElwee, of Saxton, grandchildren, Ron Horton and fiancée Courtney of Saxton, Keisha Musser, Dionn Runk, both of Saxton, Doneisha Duke, wife of Randall of Brookehaven, MS, Hunter Runk, husband of Shawna of Robertsdale, Aaron, husband of Barbie Kilcoyne of Muncy, Jena, wife of Clint Farley of Turbotville, great grandchildren, Kameron, Karlee, Kayden, Laney, Kolbie, Lexie, and Rowen, who she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Also surviving are siblings, Maynelle Swope, Sonja, wife of Dick Miller, Leroy Black, husband of Carol, all of Broad Top City, Catherine Thompson of Defiance, and half-sister, Ona Lou McClain of Martinsburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Elaine Snyder, a grandson, Richard "Colby" Horton, brother Claude Black, sister, Joanne McClain, and two infants siblings, Duncan John Black and Dorothy Jean Black.
She attended the Robertsdale and Tussey Mt. Schools, was of the Protestant Faith, was a former member of the Watson and Black Post 126 American Legion and volunteered in the concession stands for the R.W.&BT Vol Fire Co.
She was co-owner of Burke-More Custom Reupholstering in Broad Top City and previously worked at J&P Furniture in Wood, The US Postal Service in Broad Top City, was the seamstress for Connie Black Dance Studio, served on the board of elections In Broad Top City, Saxton Manfacturing Sewing Company, and as an Avon Representative.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, the beach, camping, Broadway Shows, winemaking, sewing, and crafting. She woke up happy, always smiling and will be missed by many.
Beanie left us on her favorite holiday, Halloween. She's famous for pulling pranks on friends and family, went to great lengths to out do herself each year.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 6-8 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
