Donna Elizabeth (Brode) Lemin, 89, of Saxton, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Dawn’s in Saxton on October 5, 2022.
Born in Saxton RD (Little Valley) on August 5, 1933, a daughter of the late Orbison Charles and Ruth LaRue (Carberry) Brode.
On January 17, 1953 she was united in marriage to Boyd Edward Lemin who preceded her in death on April 17, 1991.
She was a graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School and then worked at the sewing factory in Saxton. She was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of the Oasis of Love Church in the Valley.
She loved camping with her family and friends and prior to the death of her husband she enjoyed traveling with him for work. Following his passing she was able to travel to all 50 states. She was an active member of her Church and was a lifetime member of the Saxton Sportsman’s Association. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going on many adventures with her best friend, the late Dixie Heaton.
Surviving are daughters, Linda Smith, wife of Joe, Connie Batzel, wife of Ken, Dawn McEldowney, wife of Shawn, son, Edward Lemin, daughter-in-law, Christy Lemin, sister, Ruth Ann DeLuca, wife of Malvin, grandchildren, Candice Benton, Kylee Ritchey, Macala Lemin, Jesse Lemin, Janelle Lemin, Lindsey Hughes, Kendra Wheelden, Nicole McCreary, Cierra Diehl, and Lelan McEldowney, as well as 23 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Jesse Lemin, brothers, Omar, Ellis “Tiny”, and Vaughn Brode, a sister Mae (Brode) Johnson, and a grandson, Joseph Smith Jr.
A celebration of Life will be held by the family at the Oasis of Love Church in the Valley on October 12, 2022 at 2 PM with Pastor Kathy Speck officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. P.O. Box 214, Broad Top City, PA. 16621 to assist the family with final expenses.
