Florine LaRue (Carberry) Long

Florine LaRue (Carberry) Long, 89, of Saxton, formerly of Prattville, AL. and Agnos, AR. passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at her home following a one year battle with cancer.
Born in Robertsdale, Pa. on April 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Whited) Carberry.
On March 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clair Long who preceded her in death on December 22, 2007.
She worked at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital  for 17 years as well as transporting children to Skills in Huntingdon for several years. She was a member of the Hopewell Senior Citizens Center and the Oasis of Love Church in the Valley. She enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic and always wanted to be helping others. She enjoyed gardening, spending time outside, watching birds at the feeder, spending time with family and friends as well as sewing, making many quilts over the years for her family, and had a strong love for the Lord.
Surviving are two sons, Owen Long and Martin Long, husband of Roberta, three daughters, Sarah (Long) King, wife of Stephan, Clara Long and companion, Chris, and Cynthia (Long) Keifman, wife of Richard. Also surviving are grandchildren, James, Kelly, and Jason Hess, Stephan Daniel King, Martha (Hess) Shultz, Jordan and Megan Keifman, as well as 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Orleha Long, Son Gene Long, grandson, Jeffrey Hess, 3 brothers, Stanley Carberry, Charles “Lee” Carberry, and Thomas Carberry.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., from 6-8 PM
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. at 11 AM with Pastor Kathy Speck officiating.
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA.
