George Fessler Obituary

George O. Fessler, 87, of Saxton, passed away at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA. on September 18, 2020.
Born on December 31, 1932, in Dudley, he was the son of the late Cahrles and Nancy (Von Moos) Fessler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia J. (Reed) Fessler on June 29, 2015.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, having served during the Korean Conflict. He then went on to pursue various construction jobs, ultimately retiring from the George Myers company as a lumberjack.
He held lifetime membership in the Saxton VFW and Saxton Sportsmen, being an officer at the VFW for many years.
Surviving are the following children, Brenda Cornelius, wife of Walt, John Fessler, Terry Snyder, companion Stanley Bleacher, Colleen Kline, wife of Donnie, Betty Ann Kline, wife of Phillip, and George Fessler Jr.
Surviving grandchildren include Amy Black, and husband Chad, Ricky Cornelius and wife Holly, Walter Cornelius and wife Andrea, Michael Fessler, Matthew Fessler, Kelsey Fessler, David Snyder and wife Lexi, Colleen Faircloth and husband Josh, Hanna Snyder, Kari Kline, Kayla Brumbaugh and husband Shad, Kyle Kline and wife Lexi and Cody Howell and wife Jennifer. 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Bernice "Bunny" Coy.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a infant son, granddaughter, Cindy Macklin, and the following brothers and sisters: Mary Hall, Hazel Jones, Robert "Hammie" Fessler, Joseph Fessler, Howard Fessler, Samuel Fessler and Vera Fessler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Dudley United Methodist Church at 12 NOON. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Interment will take place in the Dudley Methodist Cemetery.
