Gladys Roman Obituary
Gladys Mae Roman, 86, of Saxton, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her home.
Born in Stonerstown on July 17, , a daughter of the late Lester and Arvada (Stevenson) Whitfield.
She was the widow of John Roman who passed away in March of 1971.
She worked at the Coffee Shop, Wayne’s Department Store, and the Martin General Store.
Her memberships included being a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary Post 4129 in Saxton and was a member of the Saxton Sportsman Association.
She was of the Protestant faith and had been affiliated with Stonerstown Brethren Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Pembrooke, grandchildren, Jason Neville, husband of Delonda, Brittany Pembrooke and companion Cody Rourke, Traci Wilson, wife of Todd, great grand children, Kie Pembrooke, Branda Leader and Fiancé of Vinnie Coy, great great grandchild, Jace Coy, a sister, Marian “Tiny” Ayers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Randy Roman, Steve “Fluge” Roman, Scott “Tucker” Roman, grandson, Brandon Roman, an infant grandson, Sister, Ruth Reed, brothers, Johnny Whitfield, and Don Stevenson.
She enjoyed hanging out at the Saxton VFW with friends, playing Bingo, her family, and going for car rides.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 2PM at Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Musser Officiating.
Those who plan on attending, you are asked to follow the recommendations set for by the CDC regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
