Glenn D. Jones, 69, of Old plank Road, Broad Top, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born in Huntingdon on February 11, 1949, he was a son of the late Glenn B. and Betty (Morningstar) Jones.
On May 21, 1972, at the Methodist Church in Saxton, he was united in marriage to Veronica B. (Brennen) Jones who survives at home following 46 years of marriage.
He retired from Owens Corning in Huntingdon in the maintenance department following over 48 years.
His hobbies included, hunting, fishing, trains, and softball where he played for Garners and State College which they won six state championships and two national championships. He was a member of the Watson and Black American Legion Post 126 in Broad Top and was a life member of Buckmasters, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a 1967 graduate of Tussey Mt. High School.
Along with his wife he is survived by a son, Shawn Jones, husband of Jessica of Petersburg, a daughter, Danielle (Jones) Treece, wife of Jason of Robertsdale, Sister, Lucille Morningstar of James Creek, Brother, Donald G. Jones, of Broad Top, Sister Brenda J. Winfield, of Wood, Sister Barbara E. Herdman, of Broad Top, eight grandchildren, Brennen Jones, Shantel Treece, Haley Treece, Olivia Treece, Benjamin Jones, Madison Eutzy and Taylor Eutzy, sisters-in-law, Chesterly Stevenson of Hopewell and Julia J. Munyan of Michigan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Beth and Betsy and a grandson, Jason Treece.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. from 1-3 PM and a Funeral Service will follow at 3 PM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating and the Broad Top Area Honor Guard conducting military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the donors choice or to the funeral home to assist the family.
