Helen Sevrin Obituary

Helen Kay Guines Sevrin of Gallatin, Tennessee, and West Palm Beach, Florida, died peacefully at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, surrounded by family.
Born Feb. 4, 1945, in Robertsdale, she was a daughter of the late John Adam Guines and Isabel Elmina Drenning. She was united in marriage to Malcolm Sevrin, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sevrin is survived by her sons, Kevin Spencer and wife, Shelli, and Michael Spencer and wife, Talena; stepchildren, Leslie Bonito and husband, Danny; Lynn Lande and Aubin Sevrin and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Brooke, Amanda, Emma, Eden, Russell, Jessica, Ben, Anna, Nichole, Danielle, Carissa, A.J., Addison and Joshua.
She is also survived by her siblings, Ronnie Drening and wife, Shelley, Carol Wright and husband, Leroy, Marlene Burkholder and husband, Ed, Janet DarDar, Yolanda Ritchey and husband, Randy; and many cousins; nieces; and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Donna Chamberlain and Anna Swope, brothers, Bud Drenning and Roger Guines; a stepson, David Sevrin; and a grandson, Jonathan Spencer.
Mrs. Sevrin was actively involved in the Gallatin Church of Christ for many years where she shared her beautiful voice in the choir.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Douglas University and a master’s degree in psychology from Nova University, Florida.
Mrs. Sevrin was a licensed psychologist.
Mrs. Sevrin will be remembered by her family and friends as a strong, intelligent, loving lady who gave selflessly to her family and her loved ones. She volunteered for many years providing counseling and support in a women’s prison. The love that she shared so generously will be carried on through all who were fortunate to have been touched through her life.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Church of God, Robertsdale, with the Rev. Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery, Broad Top.
Friends may call at the church from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., 5010 Railroad Ave., Broad Top City.
