Imogene "Jeanne" (Winter) Sheeder-Steele

Imogene "Jeanne" Sheeder Steele, 94, of Bedford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Six Mile Run, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Bedford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Finleyville, Pa on June 9, 1929, a daughter of the late Oren and Dorothy (O'Neal) Winter.

She was united in marriage to Ralph "Sparky" Sheeder n December 1, 1956 in Hancock, MD. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2000.

During her life she was owner/operator of K-9 Castle, her dog grooming business, as well as having previously worked as a waitress, nannie, and model. Her interests in life included horseback riding, reading, and was a recent author of a book. She was a 1948 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School and was a member of the Six Mile Run Church of God.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherri Black widow of Newt, a son Brook Sheeder, husband of Wendy, granddaughters, Traces Ryckman and Brianna Sheeder, great granddaughters, Lizatia and Olivia Ake, and a great great granddaughter, Elliana Price.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Dolores and a brother Leroy.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 4-6 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. with a funeral service immediately following at 6 PM also at the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately in the Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the donors local animal shelter in Jeanne's memory.
