Jack W. Davis, 88, of Wood, passed away at his home on September 2, 2023.
Born in Huntingdon County on May 16, 1935, a son of the late Samuel Paul and Virginia (Ripple) Davis.
He was united in marriage to Jane (Pawuk) Davis on September 28, 1957. Mrs. Davis survives at their home.
Also surviving are children, Karen, wife of Mike, Keith, husband of Angela, grandchildren, Nathan, Kimberly, wife of Kenny Jr, Kyle, Conner, husband of Alissa, Lauren, wife of James, Daniel, husband of Amber, Meagan, wife of Zach, and Marissa, great-grandchildren Kaylyn, Rachel, Isaiah, Landon, and Hudson, siblings, Nancy "Red", wife of Leroy Kinzey, Pat, widow of George McCool, and Sam Davis, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Barry Davis and Jim Davis.
He was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Sargent during the Korean Conflict Era.
He was a member of the Greater Broad Top Area Sportsmans Club, was a little league manager and coached men's softball. He was a die-hard Steelers and Penn State fan and was instrumental in the formation of the CCAW. He was devoted to his family and community which he loved, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. During his life he enjoyed hunting, golfing, walking, and was a friend to anyone he met.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 2 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, PA. Friends will be received two hours prior to the service from 12 Noon until 2 PM. Military honors will be provided by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.
Interment will take place in the St. Michaels Orthodox Cemtery, Wood, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests the memorial contributions be sent to the R.W.& BT. Vol Fire Co., Robertsdale, PA, CCAW, Wood, PA., or the St. Michaels Orthodox Church, Wood, PA.
