Jack Hennessey, 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at his residence on April 13, 2023.
Born in Broad Top City on July 31, 1930 a son of the late Porter and Faye (Black) Hennessey.
In August of 1952, he was united in marriage to Naomi Jane (Thomas) Hennessey who survives at their home.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force achieving the rank of Basic Airman and receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a retiree from Bethlehem Steel, Was a member of the American Legion, and Saxton Sportsmans and was a life member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes and was an avid turkey hunter.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children, Jack Hennessey Jr, Timothy Hennessey, Karen Hennessey Neidig, and Vicki Sue Hennessey, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and sisters, Joyce Snyder, and Nelda Shepard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Porter Hennessey, brothers, Clement, Vaughn, Don, Lee, and sisters, Dorthea, Delora, and Vera.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from Noon to 1 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 PM with Pastor Lanny Hoover Officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions can be made to a veterans organization of their choice.
