James R. McDonald, 89, of Coalmont, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
Born in Coalmont on March 30, 1931, a son of the late Edgar L. and Martha R. (Thompson) Dick.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Bailey) McDonald who resides at Arista Care at Woodland Park, Sons, Greg, husband of Pam K. McDonald, and David, husband of Pam I. McDonald, grandchildren, Stacey, wife of Eric Bowser, Shawna, wife of Rob Koehle, Mitchell McDonald, husband of Gabrielle, great grandchildren, Gavin, Eli, Brayden, and Anna.
He retired as a safety inspector for the Dept. of Labor and Industry as well as owning and operating McDonald’s Store in Coalmont.
He was a member of the Coalmont United Methodist Church as well as the Cromwell Masonic Lodge #572, the Valley of Altoona Consistory, and the Altoona Jaffa Shrine.
He was a graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict.
At the request of the deceased there will be no services held at this time.
