Jody L. Sherlock, 64, of Wood, Pa. passed away at his home on Wednesday. June 19, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Roaring Spring, PA. on August 5, 1959, a son of the late Gene Sherlock and Maxine (Lane) and John Guthridge.
On September 15, 1989, he was united in marriage to Kimberly A. (Clark) Sherlock who survives at their home.
Also surviving are children, Jody L. Sherlock of Saxton, Garrett G. Sherlock of Saxton, Kelsie Melius, wife of Logan Melius of Langdondale, and Rebecca Sherlock and companion Dakota Morrow of Kearney, grandchildren, Landon and Lane Melius, and Norah Morrow, sisters, Jean Myers, wife of Bill of Wood, and Cindy Zimmerman, wife of Joe of Shippensburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nolan Morrow and a sister, Hulda Drenning.
Jody was a 1977 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and then worked for K.W. Reese, New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. and then retiring from Penn Dot as a CDL driver. He attended the Raystown Brethren Church.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending every moment he could outdoors. He loved sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, music and playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, and watching his grandsons play baseball. He was a man f many talents. He had a great sense of humor. Loved working with his hands, he could fix anything that was broken. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. They were the light of his life. He will be greatly missed and will live forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 5 PM with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
