Judy L. (Shaffern) Houck

Judith L. "Judy" Houck, 78, of Six Mile Run, PA. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 12, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hosptial.

Born in Six Mile Run, PA on March 25, 1945, a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Figard) Shaffern.

She was united in marriage to John Wesley Houck Jr. who preceded her in death on January 16, 2019.

Surviving are children, Wesley Houck, husband of Mandy, Evelyn Melius, wife of Gary, Tim Houck, husband of Lisa, Matt Houck, husband of Jayme, and Michael Houck. Also surviving are sisters, June Kuklo, widow of James, Joan Ross, wife of Norman, and Caroline Wright, as well as a special niece Maggie Hayes, wife of Gary Bernat, a special neighbor, Jeremy Folk, and 16 grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by children, Sandra Foor and John Houck, and siblings, Phyllis Serignoli, James Shaffern, and Stanley Shaffern and a granddaughter Raechel Nichole Huouck.

Judy was a kind and loving lady. She wanted to help everyone she could. Judy knew everybody and if she didn't she did before she was done talking. Judy loved her two dogs, loved to play BINGO, and ride her scoter through town to say hello to everyone. Judy loved going to church and she knew Jesus as her savior. She loved to tell her grandkids stories of her past. Judys last gift was to give life to someone she never knew.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1 PM at the Riddlesburg Bible Church and friends are invited to gather from 12 Noon until the service begins at 1 PM.
