June Kuklo Obituary

June Helen (Shaffern) Kuklo, 84, of Saxton, formerly of Six Mile Run, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Born in Six Mile Run of April 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Figard) Shaffern.

She was a 1958 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School, was a US Army Veteran, serving from July 1958 to June 1961, was a member of the Kearney Union Church, and worked as a health care provider for home nursing for 25+ years, as well as AU8 transporter for 10 years, and Cove Shoe for 14 years.

On June 15, 1963, she was united in marriage to James W. Kuklo who preceded her in death on January 3, 2014.

Surviving are daughters, Maggie Hays, wife of Gary Bernat, Jamie Allison, Widower of Tom Allison, sisters, Joan Ross, wife of Norman, Caroline Wright, grandchildren, Stephanie (Hays) Young, wife of David, Ryan Hays, husband of Chelsey, Brandon Allison, Amanda Allison, Chelsey Allison, great grandchildren, Madison Wright and Barrett James Young.

Along with her parents, husband, and son in law, she was preceded in death by Sisters Phyllis Sgrignoli and husband David, Judith Houck and husband John, brothers, James Stanley Shaffern and Stanley James Shaffern.

The family will be holding a memorial service at the Kearney Union Church on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Jerry Wright officiating. Friends are invited for a time of visitation from 10-11 AM.

Interment will be in the Duvall Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
