Karen Lea Watson, 57, of Broad Top City, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Born in Washington, PA. on April 10, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Alvin R. and Helen (Meyers) Shipley and also her late step mother, Ida P. Shipley.
On September 11, 1983, in Cumberland MD, she was united in marriage to David B. Watson whom survives at their home.
Also surviving are a son, David J. Watson and companion, Crystal, a grandson, Carter James Watson, Brother-In-Laws, Bob Watson, wife of Joyce, and Adam L. Watson, as well as brothers, James, Theodore, and Robert Harold.
She was a member of the R.W. & BT. Vol. Fire Co., Huntingdon County Fireman’s Assn., Central Districts Fireman’s Assn., was a member of the former Fort Bedford CB Club and held 3 secretarial degrees from Allegheny Community College of Maryland. She loved her family and her fur babies, calling bingo at the R.W. & BT. Fire Co., watching the Food Network, and going to look at Raystown Lake.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 6-7:30 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.
A Fireman’s Memorial service will be held at 7:30 by the R.W. & BT. Vol. Fire Co. and a memorial service to follow conducted by Pastor Jeff Musser at the Funeral Home.
