Karen Sue (Yablonski) Young
On Sunday, November 23, 2025 Karen Young, 71, of Cassville died unexpectedly at her home.
Born February 17, 1954 in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Patty (Peters) Yablonski. She was united in marriage to the late Robert F. Young on July 20, 1974 at the Trough Creek Valley Community Church by Pastor Henry Theys. Her husband Bob preceded her in death in December, 2011.
Karen is survived by a daughter, Heather Gwinn and husband Allen of James Creek and a son, Tyrus Young and wife Bonnie of Duncansville . She is also survived by a brother, Rocky Yablonski and partner Wendy Manspeaker of Saxton and granddaughters Rachael Gwinn, Amanda Gwinn, Natalie Gwinn, Margaret Young, and Gillian Young along with a multitude of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Karen graduated from Tussey Mountain High School in 1972 and worked as a homemaker for several years before beginning to work as a typesetter at Crawshaw’s and Sons Printing in Saxton. She then began working at Community State Bank in Orbisonia as an operations manager where she worked until retiring in 2013.
Karen loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren and she was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She traveled throughout the PA region with her family to watch her granddaughters dance and play soccer.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, November 28, friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12pm to the time of service. There will also be a graveside service immediately following at the Trough Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery in Todd, PA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top City, PA.
