Kenneth Foster Obituary

Kenneth E. Foster Sr., 81, of Six Mile Run, passed away at the home of his son Shannon following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 1, 1940 in Six Mile Run, he was the son of the late Glenn and Loretta (Whitney) Foster. On May 31, 1959 he was united in marriage to Vivian (Jenkins) Foster which produces a 62 year marriage and was the love of his life.
Also surviving are the following children, Charles, married to the former Cheryl Winter of Six Mile Run, Kenneth (Gene) Foster Jr. and girlfriend, Cora McMaster of Dudley, Dawn “Bunny”, wife of Larry Clark Jr. of Saxton, Cynthia Foster of Six Mile Run, and Shannon Foster of Defiance, as well as grandchildren, Shaun Defibaugh of Everett, Glen Foster and wife Ans of Six Mile Run, Gregory Foster Kelly of Cooperstown, Kelly Foster of Saxton, Lynda, wife of Bobby Young of Altoona, Brittney, wife of Cody Greenawalt of Shippensburg, Haley Foster and boyfriend Keith Waite of McVeytown, SPE4 Nicholas Foster, stationed in Okinawa , Japan, great grandchildren, Angelina and Christian Smith, Glen and  Analyssa Foster, Josh, Emily, and Coltin Young, Kiran Smith, Parker and Layne Greenawalt, as well as a sister-in-law, Gail Foster of Everett. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and William Foster.
He was a 1958 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and was a charter and life member of the Six Mile Run Vol. Fire Co., a life member of the Saxton Sportsman’s Assn., and a member of the Six Mile Run American Legion.
He retired from Grove Manufacturing in 2002. Prior to that he was employed by Cove Shoe Co and International Shoe Machine Corporation.
After retirement he was employed at Down River Golf Course in Everett until May of 2021. He was also a certified water inspector for the Coaldale SMR Water Corp. He also served on the Tussey Mountain School Board and represented Coaldale Borough when the jointure was formed and was reduced to nine members being the second one elected.
He was an avid golfer and also loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to lunch with the Class of 1958.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Broad Top City.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4-8 PM also at the Funeral Home.
Interment will take place in the Duvall Cemetery,  Six Mile Run, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to either the Six Mile Run Vol. Fire Co. 1064 Six Mile Run Road, Six Mile Run, PA. 16679 or to the ICC % Marys Medical Mission, P.O. Box 188, Dudley, PA. 16634.
