Mary Etta (Swope) Edwards, 74, of Saxton, passed away on November 7, 2025 as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Born in Roaring Spring, Pa, on December 19, 1950, a daughter of the late Isaac Bruce and Eleanor Ruth (Ramsey) Swope.
On July 29, 1969, she was united in marriage to Paul Edwards who survives at their home.
Along with her husband she is survived by children, daughter Bindy (Edwards), wife of Danny Hembree of Coker, AL, son Scott Edwards, husband of Susan of Hughsville, PA, daughter, Christina (Edwards) Steele of Hopewell, PA, and daughter Paula (Edwards), wife of Jason Ridenour of Sproul, PA. Also surviving are sisters, Sharon (Swope) Mirkitani, Joyce (Swope), wife of Gerry Miller, Debra (Swope), wife of Gary Bollinger, brother, Robert Swope, husband of Ashley, brother-in-law, Ron Jakubik, and sister-in-law, Donna, wife of Ron Walls. Surviving grandchildren include; Kindeth (Hembree), wife of Bobby Martin of Fosters, Al, Rachel (Edwards), wife of Dustin Long of Martinsburg, PA, Natalie Frye and companion, Tyson Payne of Saxton, Katrina, wife of Jason Katerburg of Canada, Michaela Frye and fiancée, Cory Mills of Everett, PA, Corrine (Steele), wife of Josh Glunt of Martinsburg, PA, and Lillian Steele of Hopewell, grandsons include, Lawson Hembree of Coker, Al, Dawayne Ridenour of Sproul, PA, and Jason Bower, husband of Calia of Hughesville, PA., great granddaughters, Kerighan Lyn, and Jayden Rose, great grandsons, Kamdyn Paul, Anderson "Andy", and Bobby Earl "Odin". as well as her fur babies, Ginger Mae and Trixie Ann, and numerous nieces and nephews who were a very large part of her life.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lori Devor, Janice Jakubik, a daughter, Tamara (Edwards) Frye, and a grandson Isaac Braden Steele.
In 1983 she graduated from nursing school and retired from J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital as a CNA. She also had worked for Bittner Vending and for Home Nursing Agency.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Noon at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Friends will be received one hour prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. P.O. Box 214, Broad Top City, PA. 16621 to assist the family with final expenses.
