Mary K (Baker) Gates

Mary K. Gates, 79, of Dudley, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, PA. following a brief illness.

Born in Roaring Spring, PA on June 25, 1946, a daughter of the late Bruce and Lucy (Angelo) Baker.

On October 10, 1968 she was united in marriage to Thomas Gates where she spent 20 years by his side while he served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Gates preceded her in death on October 26, 2024.

She was a 1964 graduate of Tussey Mt. High School, was the president of the Broad Top Area Senior Center as well as serving on the advisory committee. She also served on the Dudley, Coalmont, Carbon Municipal Authority, and held memberships in the Broad Top Area Historical Society and the Broad Top Area Coal Miner's Daughters.

She is survived by a brother, Lou Angelo, Bronson Missouri. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Paul Thomas Gates and Mark Thomas Gates, and 5 brothers, Leonard, Ronald, Bruce, James, and Frank Baker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1 PM with Pastor Patty Wise officiating at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Friends will be received one hour prior to the 1 PM service.

Interment will take place in the Dudley Methodist Cemetery, Dudley, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Broad Top Area Senior Citizens Center or to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
