Max Michael Melius

Max Michael Melius, 82, of Hopewell, passed away at his home on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Born in Broad Top Twp. on December 11, 1942, a son of the late John Simon and Gaynell Lucy (Shaffer) Melius.

During his life he enjoyed gardening, yard work, tinkering with old tractors, and sitting on the front porch visiting with family and friends. He attended Tussey Mountain High School.

Surviving are a daughter, Michelle L. Baker, wife of Kevin of McConnellsburg, a son Bryan M. Melius, husband of Amy of Hopewell, granddaughters, Katelyn Wilcox and Brooklyn Baker, siblings, Donna J. Manges, Gladys Long, Richard "Dick" Melius, Dottie M. Long, J. Edward Melius, Susan K. White, Marlene McCabe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear friend and caregiver Debbie Abbott.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 6-8 PM with a memorial service following at 8 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. in Broad Top City with pastor Allen Baker officiating. Burial will take place in the Langdondale Cemetery, Hopewell, PA.
