Melvin Childers Obituary

Melvin C. Childers, 78, of Hopewell, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Born in Riddlesburg, PA on April 6, 1945, a son of the late Samuel and Ida (Aller) Childers.

During his life he was a logger, enjoyed camping, playing cards, and working in his garage on his Volkswagen, and held memberships at the Six Mile Run American Legion Post 556 and the Saxton Sportsmans Assn.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Childers, daughter, Marlene, wife of Ben Weyandt, daughter, Patti, wife of DJ Walter, daughter, Sherry Claar, son William Childers, husband of Valerie, daughter Karen, wife of Jody Claar, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, as well as his dog Sassy.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Weyandt, and brothers, Duane, Junior, Ralph, and Samuel Childers.

At the request of the deceased no services will be held.
