Owen Craig Leabhart

Owen Craig Leabhart, 82, of Broad Top City, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Conemaugh Nason Hospital, Roaring Springs, PA.

Born in Six Mile Run, PA. on December 20, 1940, a son of the late John and Blanche (Smith) Leabhart.

Surviving are a son, Owen Craig Leabhart II and partner, Diane Walker from Hollywood Fl., a grandson, Jonathan Craig Leabhart from Waynesville, NC., great granddaughters, Nova Grace Leabhart and Jaycie Rose Leabhart also from Waynesville, NC.

He was married to Carolyn Sylvia Stallman Leabhart Dixon in June of 1960 at the Shade Gap Presbyterian Church, Shade Gap, PA.

He was a 1958 graduate of Robertsdale High School. Following graduation he worked as a Merchant Marine Semen for Sun Oil Co., Bayonne NJ. He later became an owner/operator in the trucking industry, then later became a company driver for Carolina Aluminum and then retiring from Smith Transport in Roaring Spring, PA. to care for his parents.

He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Watson and Plack American Legion, Post 126 in Broad Top City, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. in Broad Top City at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating.
