Randall Chamberlain Obituary

Randall Lee Chamberlain, 71, formerly of Saxton, PA, passed away January 16, 2023 at UFHealth Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL, due to complications from pneumonia. He was surrounded by his loving family.

 

Randall was born on July 9, 1951 in Six Mile Run, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Regina (Williams) Chamberlain, and a young brother Willard Chamberlain, Jr. (Butchie). He is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Lacey) Chamberlain; children, Nikki (Duc) Pham, Marissa (Frederico) Valencia, and Daniel (Catriona) Chamberlain; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers James (Judith) Chamberlain of York, PA and Leslie (Marie) Chamberlain of Wood, PA.

 

Randall was a 1969 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in 1973, and a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University in 1986. He served in the United States Air Force from 1974-1978. Randall married Rhonda Lacey in 1974 and they spent 48 wonderful years together, traveling the world and enjoying the company of their children and grandchildren.

 

Randall worked in the pathology field for 40 years, working at York Hospital in York, PA, Herrin Hospital in Marion, IL, Palm Beach Pathology in Palm Beach, FL, Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, FL, and he retired from UF PathLabs/University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, where he was Administrative Laboratory Director.

 

Randall and his family spent 30 years living in Wellington, FL, where he enjoyed volunteer coaching youth baseball and attending his son’s baseball games. Randall was an avid runner who loved travel, nature, history, genealogy, and was generous with his wonderful sense of humor, including sharing his daily dad jokes. He was a gentle man, as kind as he was steadfast, and he will be missed forever by his loved ones. 

 

Randall had an unwavering belief in God and was an active member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Wellington, FL and First United Methodist Church in Ocala, FL. Randall’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4th, 11:00 AM at Living Waters Church, Ocala, FL, and at a ceremony in Pennsylvania this summer.
