Raymond Taylor Obituary

Raymond David Taylor, 87, of Six Mile Run, passed away on February 27, 2025 in the Tenley Rehabilitation Unit of Homewood at Martinsburg.

Born in Coaldale on September 4, 1937, a son of the late Grant and Sarah "Sadie" (Smith) Taylor.

On September 3, 1966, he was united in marriage to Donna (Baker) Taylor in Coaldale. Mrs. Taylor survives at their home.

Along with his wife he is survived by a son, David Grant Taylor, husband of Corina "Corie" (Hoover), as well as grandchildren, Grant, Gage, and Jaclyn Taylor all of Six Mile Run. Also surviving are a sister, Sally, wife of George Siclari of Port Chester, New York, a sister-in-law, Hazel Marie Taylor of Six Mile Run, a brother-in-law, John Keagy of Six Mile Run, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Richard and wife Beatrice, Charles, Marvin, and Shirley Taylor.

He was a 1957 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School, while there he enjoyed football, basketball, and baseball. He then served his country as an Airman First Class. His primary employment was at Letterkenny Army Depot working in the radar department, following his retirement he maintained rental properties in Coaldale, also serving as Coaldale President for many years and was a proud Eagle Scout.

He continued his love of sports, participating in various adult leagues. He was a former president of the Broad Top Oldtimers Baseball Assn. He had a passion and talent for shooting pool, where he expanded on by making pool cues, re-covering pool tables, and participating in numerous pool leagues in the surrounding area. He loved cooking and dancing, was a life time member of the Six Mile Run American Legion, a member of the former Hopewell VFW as well as numerous other organizations.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11 AM also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run, PA. with full military honors provided by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
