Robert Eldon “Jake” McCartney III, 68, of Six Mile Run, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 as a result of a farming accident.
Born in Altoona on February 4, 1951, he was a son of the late Robert E. Jr. and Dorothy B. (Burket) McCartney.
He is survived by his wife, Karen M. (Zelanko) McCartney at their home, daughters, Crystal, wife of Jamie Macom, Nika, wife of Clete Wilt, Erin McCartney, Tahni Hall, sons, Robert E. McCartney IV, Jacob D. McCartney, William “Andrew” McCartney, Joseph Isaac McCartney, granddaughters, Annie Macom, Makena Hall, sisters, Judy Pearce, Mary Lou Argabright, wife of Pete, and Amy Zwayer, wife of Ken.
He was a 1969 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and retired as a superintendent from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 37 and a half years of service.
He enjoyed working outside, reading, and vacationing in Cancun Mexico.
A memorial service will be held by the family at the Robertsdale Church of God in Robertsdale, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Don Evans officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the donors local chapter of the Salvation Army.
