Sally (Swope) Dodson, 73, of Hopewell, formerly of Broad Top City, passed away on August 14, 2020 with her family members by her side.
Born on June 8, 1947 in Broad Top City, a daughter of the late Marshall “Pete” and Sylvia (Wagner) Swope of Broad Top City.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert Dodson of Hopewell, a son, Robert Dodson Jr. of Hopewell, and companion Linda, daughter Janet (Dodson) Eicher and husband Dan of Hopewell, her pride and joy, her grandson Levi Walker and wife Kayla of Hopewell, her most recent pride and joy, great grandson Bryson Walker. Also surviving are sisters, Margaret “Sis” Reihart and husband Lewis of Wood, Cedena Sollenberger Widow of Ronnie of Broad Top City, Naomi Snyder and husband John of Narvon, and brother Marshall Swope, widower of Doris of Martinsburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Heath, and sister Margaretta Zdrosky and husband Tom, as well as others. She never missed a day of her 12 years of school at Tussey Mountain School District. She also was very proud of never missing 12 straight years of Sunday School that she received pins for at the Broad Top Church of God. She was a proud housewife who loved her family. She loved cats, most recently Dusty, watching the game show network, her soaps, Hallmark Christmas movies, Pirates baseball, and Tiger Woods playing golf and enjoyed watching her brother play with the Old Timers Baseball. She was the only one that was able to make gravy at Thanksgiving without lumps.
Private graveside service were held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA. with Pastor Ron Wilson officiating.
