Stuart W. Edwards, 88, of Chambersburg, formerly of Cooks, passed away at his home on October 29, 2020.
Born in Robertsdale on October 14, 1932, a son of the late Robert W. and Elsie G. (Grissinger) Edwards.
He was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot as an ammunition inspector. He traveled the world during his life spending two years in Okinawa, three and a half years in Germany, two and a half years in California, and several years in New York State. He was privlidged to have traveled through the Panama Canal twice on boats loaded with ammunition. No one was ever a stranger to him.
He was a 1951 graduate of Robertsdale High School and was the 6th generation to live on the Edwards family farm.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald Edwards, Raymond Edwards, and Rock Edwards, a sister Berniece Shearer, wife of John, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, as well as the mother of his sons, Hazel Edwards of Huston, TX.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 2 PM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Cooks, with military honors being conducted by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard.
