Thomas Franklin Cunningham

Thomas Franklin Cunningham, 78, of Saxton, passed away at home on October 21, 2022.

Born on December 15, 1943 in Saxton, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary (Reed) Cunningham of Saxton.

He was a graduate of Tussey Mountain. Throughout his life he held various jobs working for Penn Dot, Saxton Borough police, PA game commission, and was a security guard at the Saxton Nuclear Station.

He was of the Protestant faith and affiliated with the Raven Run Church of the Brethren.

He was devoted to his family and known for his friendly personality, kind spirit, and sense of humor. He was a remarkable storyteller and often left the audience questioning if the story was fact or fiction. He held memberships at the Saxton VFW and the Saxton Sportsmens where he enjoyed socializing with friends. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed nature walks, hunting, fishing, shooting, trapping, and spending time at the family hunting cabin. He had a green thumb and loved tending to his garden. He was also an avid book reader with a keen interest in history and religion.

Surviving are wife, Ethel Cunningham, children, Deb Foor (wife of Robert), Sue Thompson (wife of Matthew), April Cunningham, Shane Cunningham, Tom Zdrosky (husband of Kathy), a brother, Stephen Cunningham (husband of Kathi), a niece Lisa Cunningham and nephew Shawn Cunningham (husband of Laura), 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as many other extended family members.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Devon Pembrooke, and a great-niece Kaitlin Cunningham.

Family will be received on Wednesday, October, 26, 2022 from 12:30 pm until the funeral services at 1:00 PM  with Pastor Chris Clinger officiating at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home.
