Tim Stapleton

Tim Stapleton, 63, of Broad Top City, passed away on August 1, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born in York, PA on October 25, 1957, a son of the late George and Dorothy (Brown) Stapleton.
He attended the Tussey Mountain Schools, was of the Christian faith and worked in electrical maintenance at Owens Corning/AGY in Huntingdon for over 30 years. He held memberships in the Huntingdon Moose, VFW Post #24 and the Standing Stone VFW.
On September 28, 1986 in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Kathie (Chilcote) Stapleton, who survives at their home.
Also surviving are daughters, Angels Hess, wife of Jeff, Amanda Fessler, wife of Mark, Sara Rhoads, wife of Kevin, sons, Daniel and Johnathan Stapleton, grandchildren, Dylan Oswald, Laura and Miranda Wible, Mackenzie Smith, Tallulah, Hudson, Josie, and Mila Rhoads, Sisters, Connie Rundle, Sally Brown, Mary Lynne Ellinger, Carol Meck, Brothers, George and David Stapleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Timothy John Stapleton, and brothers, Randolph and Walter Stapleton.
He enjoyed learning about local history and had a particular passion for the East Broad Top Railroad and the surrounding coal mining industry. He also love watching westerns, listening to music, caring for his cat "Kit Kat", and playing his guitar. Above all else he was a stoic yet wonderful father and pappy who provided his grandchildren with an endless supply of lollipops, "Skeezers", and unconditional love. He will be forever missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
