Wanda Gale Miller, 73, went home to be with the lord after a very
long and courageous battle of Cancer.
She fought hard for over 16
years. She passed on February 2, 2026 at The Villages Hospice
House, The Villages, FL. Wanda was born on February 11
th
, 1952 at
J.C. Blair Hospital in Huntingdon, PA. She was raised in Dudley.
Which she sometimes was called “Dud.”
She was the daughter of the Late Mary L. (Howells) and Cletus J.
Burke. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Cletus J.
Burke, Jr. and Thomas J. Burke.
She was united in Marriage to C. Mark Miller on June 4
th
1977 at The
Dudley United Methodist Church. He still resides at their home in
Saxton, PA and Leesburg, FL.
She is survived by her two children that were her pride and joy!
Daughter, Sarah L. Miller Saxton, PA and Son, Nicholas M. Miller,
wife Kayla N. Miller Saxton, PA; Her two grandsons that she loved
more than life itself! Braden N. Miller and Hudson M. Miller; Her
nieces and nephews. When they were younger, she played a big role
in their lives! Tracie M. (Burke) Whysong, Mark T. Burke, Christina A.
Miller, Jason G. Miller, and Patrick N. Miller. She also has survived by
great nieces and nephews!
She graduated from Tussey Mountain High School class of 1970. She
then started her working career. Some of places she worked over
the years were: Reeves Parvin, New Enterprise Stone and Lime, The
Broad Top Bulletin in Saxton, PA. Then helped form a family
business of Miller Brothers Excavating which then turned into Mark
Supply Company, Inc in February 1988. She served as Board
President and Treasurer! She also worked at Tussey Mountain
School District. She then retired on January 8
th
2016. After retiring,
Wanda missed being able to make an impact on people’s lives. But
no matter who she came in contact with she still made an impact
even if she didn’t think she did!
She was also a part of The Order of The Eastern Star of the Saxton
Chapter but now known as Bedford Spring Chapter.
Wanda was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Dudley
United Methodist Church.
She also attended Beavertown Bible
Church in Todd, PA. When she was in Florida she would attend the
Bushnell Methodist Church in Bushnell, FL. But her heart was always
with Dudley United Methodist Church.
It was her family’s home
church.
If you knew Wanda and her stories, there was never a dull moment
with her! She would be like you can’t make this up! Her family was
her priority and she always showed how much she loved them!
Wanda also enjoyed sitting in her recliner chair scrolling online,
Shopping (She told Mark it was on sale), Organizing for The Chili
Parties that were held at our home for the businesses in the Saxton
area, Corvette Trips, Camping Trips, Snow Birding to Florida, doing
things for others, and spending time with her beloved family. These
are a few things of many! Even though she will be terribly missed,
her love and genuine character will be carried on through the
presence of her beloved family!
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 5-8 PM and again on Thursday, February 12, 2026, one hour prior to the funeral service which starts at 1 PM with Pastor Suzanne Detterline officiating. All services will be held at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Broad Top City, PA.
