William Peffer Obituary

William Fenton “Bill” Peffer, 72, of Wells Tannery, Went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2019, at his home following a brief illness.
Born on March 9, 1947 in Huntingdon, a son of the late Miles F. and Betty M. (Wolfe) Peffer.
He was united in marriage to Karen A. (Ford) Peffer which produced a 47 year marriage. Mrs. Peffer survives at home.
During his life he worked construction, was the owner/operator truck driver, was a tunnel guard for the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and was a union steward for the Teamsters, and was involved with the Republican National Committee in Fulton County.
He attended Tussey Mountain High School and was in the Army National Reserve serving from February 28, 1967 until December 21, 1972 where he was an expert in rifle.
He was of the Christian Faith, attending the New Grenada Church of God.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Chris Peffer, husband of Monica, a daughter, Tara Peffer, grandchildren, Cole and Micah Peffer, brother Jim Peffer, husband of Bertha, Sister, Ruthann Claycomb, wife of Donald, Sister Jeannie Banco, and a sister Patty Lou Melius, wife of Ronald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill Loved to go fishing, watch his grandson play high school football, and was always there when you needed a helping hand. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the garage, or even just grabbing his “usual” at Kelly’s Restaurant.
It was the request of the deceased that his services be private. Military honors will be provided by the Broad Top Area Honor Guard. Interment will take place in the Dublin Mills Community Church Cemetery, Hustontown, PA.
It was also the request of the deceased that there be no flowers sent. His wishes are for memorial contributions to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS. 66675. www.woundedworriorproject.org.
